For nearly a quarter of a century, Douglas and Helen Stock have specialized in 19th Century Persian and Caucasian rugs and carpets, helping to build significant collections and furnish fine homes. Our primary emphasis is on Fereghan, Bidjar and Northwest Persian Carpets, including "Serapi", Heriz and Bakshaish weavings. We take great interest and pride in assisting our national clientele in their wish to learn about antique Oriental carpets as both an art form and a significant part of a beautifully furnished room. We have spoken at the Textile Museum in Washington, D.C. several times, as well as at the Cleveland Rug Society. Additionally, we have authored numerous articles published in antiques related magazines, show catalogs and trade papers. Douglas serves on the Carpets Vetting Committee at the Winter Antiques Show in New York, and has also served on the vetting committees at the Connoisseur's Antiques Fair in New York and the ADA Antiques Show. We have published many fine carpets in magazines such as The Magazine Antiques; Hali; Connoisseur's Quartely; and Architectural Digest. Douglas served on the board of The Art and Antiques Dealers League, for many years. Our gallery, which is located at 464 Washington St. (Rt. 16) in the world famous college town of Wellesley, Massachusetts, is approximately 12 miles west of Boston and is easily accessed via major travel routes or train service from Boston. Gallery hours are generally 11-6 Monday through Saturday. A call ahead, especially if you are making a special trip, is appreciated and suggested, as we sometimes are out during gallery hours on appointments, etc. Appointments outside of our regular hours are welcome. We exhibit at the Delaware (Winterthur Museum) Antiques Show in November and the Wilton (Ct.) Historical Society Antiques Show in March.
