Field & Hearth: A Collection of 19th and 20th Century Dutch Paintings

6/15/2010 - 8/1/2010

Anderson Galleries, Inc. is pleased to present Field & Hearth, a selection of Dutch 19th and 20th century paintings and watercolors, for your review and consideration. While these fourteen works can only hint at the richness and diversity of the art produced in the Netherlands during this period, each has been carefully chosen to reflect motifs which will be familiar to even the most casual admirer of the Dutch tradition: windmills, a skater on a frozen lake, rosy cheeked children at play, and farm life throughout the seasons.

We would like to extend a special thanks to Ms. Ann Bader of Los Angeles, from whose collection many of these works were drawn. Ms. Bader returned from each of her visits to her native Holland over the years with an acquisition to remind her of home. We are exhibiting a number of them here for the first time.
